India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable 2026: Fourth Round to Be Held in Singapore
New Delhi, August 18, 2026: The fourth round of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) will be held in Singapore on August 20, 2026, bringing senior Indian ministers together with their Singaporean counterparts to review ongoing cooperation and explore opportunities to deepen the bilateral partnership.
The meeting will focus on key areas including advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare and medicine, skills development and sustainability.
Four Indian Ministers to Participate
The Indian delegation will include Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada.
During their visit, the ministers are scheduled to hold discussions with their Singaporean counterparts. They will also call on Singaporean leaders as part of the visit.
The discussions are expected to provide an opportunity to assess progress in areas identified under the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
ISMR: A Key Platform for Bilateral Cooperation
The India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable was established as a platform to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and address emerging areas of mutual interest.
The inaugural ISMR meeting was held in New Delhi in September 2022. The second round took place in Singapore in August 2024, followed by the third meeting in New Delhi in August 2025.
The mechanism has provided a framework for discussions on several priority sectors and has contributed to shaping the broader roadmap for the two countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Focus on Emerging Areas
Previous ISMR discussions have covered advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare and medicine, skills development and sustainability.
These discussions have helped drive the Roadmap for the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was unveiled during Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s visit to India in September 2025.
The fourth round will allow both sides to review the progress of ongoing initiatives and identify additional areas where cooperation can be strengthened.
Business Leaders to Join Parallel Roundtable
The fourth edition of the India-Singapore Business Roundtable will also take place alongside the ministerial meeting.
The business roundtable serves as a strategic and advisory forum involving key business leaders from both countries. Its parallel engagement is intended to complement government-level discussions by providing a platform for business perspectives on bilateral cooperation.
Why the Fourth ISMR Round Matters
The latest meeting comes as India and Singapore continue to advance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through cooperation across multiple sectors.
By reviewing existing initiatives and identifying new areas of collaboration, the fourth ISMR round is expected to help both sides maintain momentum in their bilateral engagement.
The discussions in Singapore will therefore serve as an important review point for ongoing initiatives while providing an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in emerging and strategic areas.
